No. Zawji is completely free. No hidden fees, no premium plan, no in-app purchases. You pay nothing — neither now nor in the future. We are driven by conviction, not profit.

How does it work?

You create a profile (5 min). The founder reviews it once per day. Then you can browse profiles, send interest, and chat. AI filters messages instantly; flagged ones are reviewed daily by admin.

How is Zawji different from Muzz and Salams?

Muzz and Salams cost money and are driven by algorithms. Zawji is 100% free and every profile is reviewed by a real person. We have no profile photos, no free chat, and all communication is moderated. This isn't dating — it's serious marriage-seeking according to Quran and Sunnah.

How long does it take to find a match?

It varies. Some find a potential match within a week, others take longer. It depends on your city, your preferences and how many active profiles match. We focus on quality over quantity — better one right match than a hundred wrong ones.

Why free? What's the business model?

Zawji is free during our beta period and we plan to keep core features free forever. We believe money should not be a barrier to finding a halal spouse. In the future we may introduce voluntary premium features, but matching and communication remain free. Zawji is built on conviction, not venture capital.

Is Zawji halal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Zawji is built according to the Quran and Sunnah. All messages are moderated by admin — no free chat. No profile photos required. Wali involvement is encouraged. Admin acts as a digital trusted third party, just like at traditional matchmaking.

Can my wali be part of the process?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Wali involvement is strongly encouraged. You don't need to provide a wali at registration, but when a match becomes serious we help you involve your family. The brother contacts the wali directly, and admin helps arrange a sittning. Your wali can be involved the whole way.

Can I pray istikhara via Zawji?

Zawji does not replace istikhara. We have a guide on how to pray istikhara for marriage.

Do I need a wali to use Zawji?

No, not to register or browse. Wali involvement is encouraged but optional. When a match becomes serious we help you involve your family. You decide yourself when it feels right.

Is Zawji tied to a specific madhab or movement?

Accepted Answer

No. Zawji is madhab-neutral and movement-free. We welcome Sunni Muslims regardless of madhab — hanafi, maliki, shafi'i, hanbali. We are not affiliated with any specific organization, association or imam. Our only foundation is Quran and Sunnah, and respect for the fact that Muslims have different interpretations within the framework of Sunni Islam.

Is my data safe?

Yes. We follow GDPR (the EU data protection regulation). Your data is stored in Sweden with Supabase. Only admin can see your profile — it is not publicly searchable. We never share data with third parties and never sell your data. You can delete everything at any time.

How are profiles verified?

Accepted Answer

Every profile is manually reviewed by the founder once per day. Fake profiles, non-serious registrations and suspicious accounts are rejected. That's why Zawji has no fake profiles.

Can others see my phone number?

Accepted Answer

No. Phone numbers and emails are hidden from other users. You share personal details only when you choose to — never automatically.

Do I need to upload a photo?

Accepted Answer

No. Zawji requires no profile photos. It's a deliberate choice — we judge you on your deen, your values and your goals. Sisters have extra protection: your profile is never visible without your active approval. You decide yourself whether to share a photo with a specific match, and it always goes through admin — never directly.
